How to Make Sausage Gravy

Weekends are about sleeping in, lounging in your pajamas, sipping coffee, relaxing and making a nice big breakfast. I learned how to make sausage gravy many years ago and enjoy it over biscuits every  now and then. I really love it topped with a fried egg.  Don’t go to a restaurant for a nice breakfast, bring the restaurant to you.


  • 1 lb. ground maple sausage or regular if you can’t find maple
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 4 tbsp flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • Pepper


  1. Brown sausage over medium heat and remove with slotted spoon.biscuits and gravy sausage
  2. Add butter to skillet and let it melt, slowly pour in milk whisking constantly until thickened.
  3. Return sausage to pan.
  4. If you are not using maple sausage I would suggest adding 2 tbsp. of maple syrup to mixture.Biscuts and sausage gravy
  5. Serve over biscuits.
  6. Add pepper to taste.
